FAQ & House Rules

The home has 7+ bedrooms + large sleeping loft and sleeps up to 19 registered overnight guests (21 with prior approval). Ten permanent beds (3 Kings, 3 Queens, 3 Fulls, 1 Twin) plus up to two folding beds on request ($125 each, supplied fresh and dressed). All guests must be registered on the booking.

Yes — Marin Vista Retreat welcomes corporate retreats, team offsites, and small business meetings. The great room, decks, and kitchen are built for working groups. Overnight occupancy is limited to registered guests staying at the property (up to 19, or 21 with prior approval). No public events, ticketed gatherings, or outside attendees beyond this policy. This is a private short-term rental — not an event venue. Contact us to discuss your agenda and group size.

Fast, reliable Wi-Fi throughout — ready for video calls and remote work. The great room has a 72" smart TV with HDMI ports, a projector screen, and an in-house whiteboard. A large expandable dining table doubles as group desk space; the kitchen island and breakfast booth work well for smaller breakouts.

No parties, no public events, no outside attendees, and no third-party alcohol service. Planning a retreat or workshop with outside vendors (caterers or instructors)? Contact us for a brief supplemental agreement and vendor insurance (COI).

With prior approval, up to 5 daytime visitors may visit during the day; they may not stay overnight. All work sessions must remain within registered guests plus those visitors — no public or ticketed events.

Check-in is at 4:00 PM. Check-out is at 11:00 AM.

Parking for 6 cars on-site, plus 2–3 cars on the cul-de-sac (6–8 total).

Pets are not allowed in general. Service animals are welcome — see the ADA service animal guidelines.

Quiet hours are 10:00 PM – 8:00 AM.

Booked direct with the owner: full refund for cancellations 60+ days before check-in, 50% refund for cancellations 30–59 days before check-in, and no refund within 30 days of check-in. Booked through Airbnb or Vrbo? See the cancellation policy on the site you booked with.

Yes — the tap water is drinkable and from Marin Municipal Water District. Many guests find it better than bottled water.

There is no EV charging on the property, but fast charging is close by (drive times per Google Maps).

The home was refreshed throughout for the 2026 season: a fully remodeled chef’s kitchen with new cabinetry, tile, and high-end appliances; new Pella windows and doors for abundant natural light and a quiet interior; and new mini-split systems added on every level — including the lower floor — so each room has its own heating and air conditioning. The property is also solar-powered.

The main level — great room, dining, kitchen and main deck, as well as 2 main-floor bedrooms — has a smooth, no-step entry.

Booking direct means no high platform service fees, a direct line to the owner, and secure checkout via Stripe. Peak season (May–September) and holiday (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s) rates may differ — check availability for current pricing.
